Kathryn Beaumont
Kathryn Beaumont joined the firm in 2011 from Ropes & Gray LLP, where she concentrated on tax and nonprofit organizations law with a focus on colleges and universities. (Prior to law school she held higher education roles at Princeton University, MIT, and Harvard University.) At Stern Shapiro Weissberg & Garin she will also focus on its publishing, film and television practice and general intellectual property issues.
Ms. Beaumont graduated from Princeton University in 1996 with a degree in English and received a master's degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in 1997. She received her law degree, magna cum laude, in 2008 from Boston College Law School, where she was a member of the Boston College Law Review and the Order of the Coif. Prior to her legal career, she was a reporter, writer, and editor for a variety of publications, including People magazine, Technology Review, and the Washingtonpost.com. Her writing has appeared in the BusinessWeek Guide to Best Business Schools (McGraw-Hill) and, most recently, in the anthology Torn: True Stories of Kids, Career, & Modern Motherhood.
Ms. Beaumont is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is a member of the Boston Bar Association.
